The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) council has implemented mechanisms to allow students to pay their registration fees and other costs.
This information can be found in a statement made on Wednesday in Maiduguri by the Registrar, Malam Ahmad Lawan.
“Students who are unable to pay in full at once may do so over time.
“We broke it down to first semester – 60%, second semester – 40%,” Lawan added. “The university council accepted the payment of the fees and levies in two instalments.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), organisations and students in Borno demonstrated against the university’s above 150% fee rise.
The institution said in a circular that the rising price of laboratory supplies, instructional materials, and other costs had forced them to raise the fees.
