Governor Uba Sani has lauded Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Aliko Dangote Foundation for their continued efforts to combat hunger and poverty in Nigeria. The Governor gave the commendation during the distribution of 35,000 bags of 10kg rice to all 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, an initiative under the Foundation’s Annual National Food Intervention Project.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Sani Liman Kila, the Governor disclosed that each local government will receive 1,522 bags of rice. He praised the Dangote Foundation for its strategic and impactful interventions, noting that they align with his administration’s social investment priorities.
“The Foundation’s social protection programs are in line with our commitment to improving lives through access to healthcare, education, and targeted social services,” Sani said. “Since assuming office, our administration has prioritized economic recovery through inclusive growth, financial literacy, and humanitarian support, particularly for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).”
He further expressed the state government’s readiness to continue partnering with people-focused organizations like the Dangote Foundation to uplift the poor and vulnerable in Kaduna State.
Also speaking at the event, Alhaji Sadiq Ahmed, a representative of the Dangote Foundation, stated that the ongoing food intervention aims to reach over one million underprivileged Nigerians across all 774 local government areas of the country.
“This initiative reflects our core values—compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility,” Ahmed said. “It is part of our broader response to the current economic challenges facing millions of Nigerians.”
He emphasized that the Foundation remains committed to providing relief to the most affected communities while promoting long-term solutions to hunger and poverty.
The rice distribution in Kaduna is one of many efforts being rolled out nationwide as part of the Foundation’s mission to support Nigeria’s most vulnerable populations during difficult times.
