Two persons have died in a road crash involving the convoy of Sokoto Deputy Governor Idris Mohammed Gobir.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that one photographer and a policeman died as a result of the accident, which occured along Goronyo-Sabon Birni road.
The Director, Press of the deputy governor, Garba Muhammed, said his principal was on his way to Sabon Birni, his country’s home when the accident happened.
Engineer Gobir was said to have gone there to host his boos who was coming to condole the victims of banditry.
“One of the security escort vehicles somersaulted and the driver who was a policeman and the photographer of the deputy governor lost their lives.
“Their bodies were deposited in the mortuary and they would be buried tomorrow,” he said.
The spokesperson of the police, ASP Ahmed Rufa’i, however said he was not aware of the accident.
He promised to get back to our reporter when adequately briefed.
