Two members of Kano State House of Assembly, Aminu Sa’adu (NNPP, Ungoggo), and Sarki Aliyu Daneji (NNPP, Kano Municipal), have died minutes apart.
The spokesperson of Kano State Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on his Facebook page, announced Daneji’s death.
Sa’adu had fallen sick shortly after arriving at the Assembly complex earlier in the day, and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention, but doctors later pronounced him dead.
Minutes after news of the death of Sa’adu was announced, his colleague Daneji, died.
Colleagues, political stakeholders and residents of Kano State were left in disbelief, describing the development as a painful loss not only to the legislature but also to the state as a whole, given the roles both lawmakers played in lawmaking and constituency representation.
