Nigeria most wanted bandits- kingpin, Kachallah Bello Turji has killed over 40 members of Civilian Joint Taskforce in Zamfara on Sunday.
Among the people killed by Turji and his boys were four operatives of the Department of State Security and a repentant bandit who was his former rival fondly called Bashar Maniya.
Turji was seen celebrating the victory with his foot soldiers in a short video clip posted on Social Media Platforms.
They were chatting victory songs, showing the corpses of the operatives and their vehicle, with Turji saying they would roast in hell, just as he bragged that, nobody could defeat his force.
21st Century learnt that, the operatives were on two vehicles and motorcycles when they were ambushed by Turji and his boys at Ruggar Chida where Turji’s father was said to be the community leader.
“There was no GSM services in the area for two weeks because of the operation. The operatives consist of DSS, Civilian JTF and vigilantes. They were ambushed by Turji and his boys.
“They killed over 40 of them and several others were injured in the process. He seized their motorcycles and vehicles,” a local source told our reporter.
The source added that, “Turji was particularly happy because Bashar Maniya who happened to be his arc rival was among the people killed during the encounter.
“There had been a serious rivalry between them. There was a time when Turji released video, calling Maniya a fake repentant because his boys were still in the forest perpetrating all sorts of atrocities.
“The security used to involve Maniya in their operation because he mastered the terrain very well. Let me tell you Turji is particularly happy because of his death.
In the video, Turji pointed at the lifeless body of Maniya, saying this is the corpse of the commander who led the operation.
A security source confirmed the attack, which he described as unfortunate.
“This is why I have been hammering on lack of synergy between our security operatives, this kind of operation should involved other security agencies like the army, Air Force and others because of its nature,” he said
