Sector 4 of Operation Whirl Punch successfully rescued 13 hostages from a kidnappers’ den in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Acting on credible intelligence about bandits transporting victims near Chigulu village, the troops launched a rescue mission at the suspected bandits’ camp.
Samuel Aruwan Overseeing Commissioner Ministry of Internal security and Home Affairs said in a statement issued on Saturday that After an intense gunfight, the bandits retreated into a dense forest, leaving behind the hostages.
“The rescued individuals, including six men and seven women, were taken to a military facility for assessment and debriefing before reuniting with their families.”he said
According to him, the operation yielded significant recoveries, including firearms, ammunition, and personal items.
Governor Senator Uba Sani commended the troops, led by Major General MLD Saraso, for their successful intervention.
