The troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed bandit leaders in Sokoto and Zamfara states in the last two weeks.
Some of the bandit leaders killed include Kachalla Na Faransa, Dogon Bakkwalo, Auta Gobaje and Dan Mai Dutsi, among others.
They were killed a fierce battle in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State as well as Isa LGA of Sokoto State.
This was revealed by the spokesman of the operation, Lt-Col Abubakar Abdullahi in a statement on Wednesday.
He said the operations have also dismantled the terrorist network and destroyed their support structures thus, significantly weakening their operational capacity.
In addition to neutralizing key figures, troops have destroyed 40 enclaves of the terrorists.
Some of locations such as Tungar Fulani, Unguwar Goga, Gangara Hill, and Gidan Maji cleared of terrorists.
This extensive offensive operation is crucial in disrupting the logistical and operational capabilities of terrorists in the North West region, he said.
He said the troops rescued dozens of kidnapped victims during these operations, contributing to the overall security and peace in the affected areas.
