The Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal currently delivering judgment in the petition filed at the state Social Democratic party (SDP) and its candidate Murtala Yakubu Ajaka has struck out the certificate forgery allegations against Governor Usman Ododo.
The three-man tribunal headed by Justice Ado Birnin kudu sitting at the National Judicial Institute in Abuja also struck out the case against Ajaka for not filing the petition on time.
The tribunal also said the allegation of over voting in Kogi Central as alleged by the petitioners was proved beyond reasonable doubt.
Ajaka and his party the SDP are challenging the election of Usman Ododo as the governor of the state in the November 11, 2023 election in the state.
The SDP candidate is alleging over voting in Kogi central area during the election as well as accusing Ododo of certificate forgery.
