Kidnappers of Kaduna train passengers have released three more hostages on Monday, it was learned.
The freed passengers include a female and two males.
This is coming hours after the terrorists threatened to abduct President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai in new video.
The terrorists threatened to slaughter some of the remaining hostages, sell some of the women like they did to Chibok girls, abduct senators and other government officials.
The release was confirmed by Kaduna-based Publisher and negotiator, Tukur Mamu, on Monday.
He told journalists that, “Yes three victims have been released, a female and two male. But remember I’m not part of the negotiation that led to their freedom.”
On Sunday, the terrorists released a video footage were they were seen mercilessly flogging the hostages comprising women, the aged and children.
The footage was replete with wailing of children and women who were beaten repeatedly by the terrorists.
A terrorist who spoke in the video said they would slaughter the over 40 hostages if the federal government fails to accede to their demands.
On March 28, the terrorists launched an attack on the train in Kaduna, killing nine persons, injuring 28 others and kidnapping 63 passengers. Two passengers were later freed.
On June 11, Mr Mamu, had facilitated the release of 11 passengers on June 11.
On July 11, families of another six hostages paid N100m each ransom to secure the release of their loved ones.
On July 5, Boko Haram fighters believed to be Kaduna train attackers, stormed Kuje Prison in Abuja, freeing 879 inmates, including 69 terrorists in its custody.
On July 5, the terrorists attacked the convoy of President Muhammadu Buhari in Dutsinma, Katsina state, hours after killing an Assistant Police Commissioner in the area.
