Governor Nasiru El-Rufai’s top aide and Director-General of Kaduna State Facilities Management Agency (KADFAMA), Muhammad Dayyibu Paki, was among those abducted in the ill-fated train attacked Monday night.
Mr Paki was kidnapped alongside his wife after the attack on the passenger train that saw many dead, dozen others wounded and many missing.
The DG, one of the young people appointed into the El-Rufai government, was named chief executive of KADFAMA on August 2018.
Another passenger taken away by the bandits was Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, a son of frontline politician and elder statesman, Professor Ango Abdullahi.
Another victim is Muhammad Sani, popularly known as Dan Ustaz, a young politician in Kaduna metropolis.
A friend of Dan Ustaz and Ango Abdullahi told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE on Tuesday that he spoke with the duo shortly after they boarded the train on Monday.
“We checked all the hospitals and mortuaries in Kaduna. But we couldn’t find them. They were among those abducted after the ugly incident,” he said.
This attack is coming barely a day terrorists stormed Kaduna International Airport and prevented a Azman passenger plane which was already taxing from taking off.
The terrorists killed a staff of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) before they were reportedly repelled by combined teams of soldiers.
On October 20, 2021, bandits had attacked the Abuja- Kaduna train destroying some portions of the tracks and the locomotive. The assailants planted explosives on the tracks and suddenly opened fire on the locomotive engine, targeting the train driver. The train which left Abuja around 6pm arrived Kaduna around 2am.
