Bandits have contacted the family of Abdallah Barau Garo, a Nigerian Youths Service Corps (NYSC) member kidnapped after the lethal attack on Kaduna train.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that the kidnappers contacted the Corp member’s family on Tuesday around 1pm.
Abdallah is doing his one- year mandatory service in Abuja, it was learned.
A sister of Garo who declined being named told our reporter that the terrorists have called and confirmed that Abdallah is with them.
She said however that the bandits didn’t ask for ransom yet. “They told our elder brother that they were the ones that attacked the train Monday night and Abdallah is with them. When we asked were they were calling from, they just hanged up,” she said.
Many passengers have been killed, wounded and many others kidnapped when terrorists attacked an Abuja – Kaduna train on Monday night.
The train which took up from Idu Railway Station in Abuja around 6:10pm was loaded with at least 960 passengers.
This attack is coming barely a day after terrorists stormed Kaduna International Airport and prevented an Azman passenger plane which was already taxing from taking off.
The terrorists killed a staff of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) before they were reportedly repelled by combined teams of soldiers.
Azman Air and Air Peace have suspended their flight operations Kaduna International Airport.
On October 20, 2021, bandits had attacked the Abuja- Kaduna train destroying some portions of the tracks and the locomotive. The assailants planted explosives on the tracks and suddenly opened fire on the locomotive engine, targeting the train driver. The train which left Abuja around 6pm arrived Kaduna around 2am.
