A road accident in Kaduna state has claimed at least 30 travellers.
The tragic incident happened on Thursday around 5:30pm along the Zaria- Kano expressway.
The crash, which involved three vehicles, occurred near Hawan Mai Mashi in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.
The passengers were also burnt beyond recognition.
A viral video on social media has shown the three vehicles engulfed in flames with wailing passengers trapped inside.
An Assistant Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Zaria Zone, Abdulrahman Husaini, said the crash involved two Toyota 18-Seater buses and a Volkswagen Gulf.
He attributed the tragedy to speeding and dangerous overtaking.
Mr Hussaini said those wounded are receiving treatment at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Shika Zaria.
He said the remains of the deceased were also evacuated and deposited at the teaching hospital morgue.
He, however, said the corps is yey to ascertain the registration numbers of the vehicles involved because they were burnt to ashes.
