The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, has revealed several prominent members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will join the ruling party next week.
Yilwatda stated this during a meeting with APC stakeholders in Jos, Plateau State, Yilwatda.
He said he would be receiving some prominent ADC members who had earlier defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ADC are now returning to the APC.”
According to Yilwatda, many of the incoming members “have completed their medicals” and will be formally unveiled next week.
“In another two weeks, we will unveil yet another big figure who just finished his own medicals. He tried to unveil himself the day before yesterday, and you may have seen it in the news. But officially, we’ll be receiving him soon,” Yilwatda continued.
The APC, Yilwatda said, is “the bride of the moment,” noting that more politicians — including senators, governors, and members of the National Assembly — were preparing to join the party.
“The beauty of the APC is that it welcomes everyone, regardless of when they join,” he said. “You don’t have to be in the APC from the beginning to rise. I am a testimony to that. If you join today, you are a full member with full rights and privileges. That’s the spirit of our party’s constitution.”
A wave of new defections into the APC from opposition parties ahead of the 2027 general elections had been going on across the country.
The Governors of Enugu and Bayelsa States, Peter Mbah andDouye Diri were the latest top politicians who joined the party.
