President Bola Tinubu has said his administration will very soon increase the salary of workers.
He revealed this on Monday during a nationwide broadcast to Nigerians on the difficulties being experienced over his latest economic reforms.
Mr Tinubu said his administration is collaborating with the Labour unions to introduce a new national minimum wage for workers.
“I want to tell our workers this: your salary review is coming,” Tinubu said in his nationwide broadcast on the current economic challenges in the country.
The president’s comments coincide with ongoing deliberations between the organised labour and the Presidential Steering Committee on Palliatives presided over by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
At the meeting, both parties are to deliberate on a new minimum wage.
“Once we agree on the new minimum wage and general upward review, we will make budget provision for it for immediate implementation,” the president said.
