President Bola Tinubu will on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 leave Abuja, for Dakar, Senegal, to attend the inauguration of Senegal’s President-elect, Bassirou Faye.
The spokesperson of the president Ajuri Ngelale disclosed this in a statement titled ‘President Tinubu to attend inauguration of Senegal’s President-elect Bassirou Faye.’
Tinubu, as the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, is visiting the country for the first time since assuming office, at the invitation of the Senegal government.
“He will join other regional leaders to witness the inauguration at Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday,” said Ngelale.
The President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, and other senior government officials.
He is expected to return to Nigeria at the ene of the inauguration.
Senegal is the fifth African country President Tinubu will be visiting since assuming office 10 months ago, and his 17th foreign destination.
Since Tinubu became president, he has so far visited Paris, France (thrice); London, the United Kingdom, Guinea-Bissau (twice); Nairobi, Kenya; Porto Norvo, Benin Republic; New Delhi, India; Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates; New York, the United States of America; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Berlin, Germany; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Doha, Qatar.
