President Bola Tinubu will undertake a one-day official visit on Saturday to Kebbi State to inaugurate some projects executed by Governor Nasir Idris.
His spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga said “while in the state, the President will also headline the 61st edition of the 2026 Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival as the special guest of honour.”
Saturday’s trip is Tinubu’s first visit to the State.
The Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival is one of Nigeria’s most historic and celebrated cultural events, which always attracts communities from across the nation and beyond
It is staged by the riverside of the historic Matan Fada, recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
It was first held in 1934 as a peace initiative between the Sokoto Caliphate and the Kebbi Kingdom and has grown into a major tourism and cultural showcase.
