President Bola Tinubu has urged the Senate to confirm the nomination of Ambassador Ismail Yusuf for appointment as Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Mr Tinubu’s request is contained in a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and read at plenary on Tuesday.
The president said the request for the confirmation of the appointment was in accordance with the provisions of section 3(2) of the NAHCON Act, 2026.
“While it is my hope that the senate will consider and confirm the appointment expeditiously, please accept, Mr Senate President and distinguished Senators, the assurances of my highest regards,” he said.
Mr Akpabio referred thethe request to the Senate Committee on Rules and Business for further legislative inputs and to report back to plenary in one week.
