President Bola Tinubu has reinstated Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey as the Project Coordinator of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).
Tinubu’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on Monday, said the President reached the decision following a performance review of the HYPREP Project Coordinator.
Zabbey was sacked by the president on Saturday.
“The President concluded that the Project Coordinator was fit to discharge his functions in accordance with the regulations guiding the execution of the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project.
“By the directive of the President, the reinstatement of the HYPREP Project Coordinator takes immediate effect,” said the statement.
The reinstatement of Zabbey by Tinubu came 48 hours after the appointment of Olufemi Adekanmbi, who stands removed by this development, as HYPREP coordinator.
Adekanmbi’s appointment was announced on Saturday.
Zabbey was first appointed HYPREP Coordinator in May 2023 by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
