A former Senator Ayogu Eze is dead.
He died on Thursday in an Abuja hospital at the age of 66.
Eze represented Enugu North Senatorial district in the National Assembly between 2007 and 2015.
He served as Committee Chairman on Information and Media in his first four years and after his reelection to the senate in 2011, was appointed chairman committee on works.
Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the Eze family over the passing of Sen. Ayogu Eze.
Presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, said this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Ngelale said during Eze’s time in the Senate, he held several positions, including Committee Chairman on Information and Media and Chairman of the Committee on Works, among others.
He said the president also commiserated with friends, associates, and former colleagues of the deceased, including the National Assembly as an institution.
Also, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Privatization, Sen. Orji Kalu has commiserated with the government and people of Enugu State over the demise of Sen. Eze.
Kalu in a condolence message on Friday in Abuja, described Eze as a consummate politician and a patriotic Nigerian.
