The Kano State Joint Task Force Committee on Security Restoration and Youth Rehabilitation has arrested 31 suspected thugs in four days.
The arrests were made between 10th and 14th of May, 2025 by the committee under the leadership of Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata.
The thugs were arrested during targeted clearance operations in Dorayi, Ja’in, Sharada, Unguwar Dabai, Dukawa, Kabuga, Kofar Mata and Neighboring Areas.
In a statement signed by the Kano state police command Public Relations Officer SP Haruna Abdullahi Kiyawa, the intelligence-led targeted operations which were conducted at criminal hideout and black spots resulted in the arrest of 31 suspects, including 25 suspected thugs, 6 suspected drug dealers and recovery of 4 Dane Guns, 9 Knives and Cutlasses , 3 Clubs (Gora), 3½ Parcels and wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa, 173 pieces of suspected exol tablets, and other suspected intoxicants were recovered as well.
The statement added that going forward, part of the arrest include notorious thugs in Dorayi Quarters Kano, including Dan Abba, Bola, Baka Kashi, Ramos, Abba Maciji and Abdul Baki.
The statement further states that all the 25 suspected thugs arrested have been charged to Magistrate Court Number (16), Zangeru Road Kano and remanded, while the 6 suspected drug dealers including one notorious Rabi’u Hamza, have been handed over to NDLEA for further investigation and prosecution.
