A Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (HYPADEC) board member, Isah Salami, was kidnapped early Thursday morning on his way to the mosque in Ogaminana, the Adavi local government area of the state.
The Kogi State Police Command spokesperson, SP William Aya, who announced the kidnap of Salami, added that one person was killed in the process.
The kidnappers came in a vehicle, parked it along Salami’s residence and zoomed off with him around 5:00am.
A witness, Ilyas Okaraga, said the young man killed attempted to save the victim.
Salami reportedly just commissioned a water project in Adavi local government on Wednesday before he was kidnapped on Thursday morning.
In another development, three persons in a car along the Federal College of Education road in Otite were shot, two died while the third one escaped.
