Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal says continues shutdown of telecom services in some parts of the state is affecting the smooth conduct of military operations across the state.

Tambuwal said this on Saturday when he received Borno and Gombe States Governors Babagana Zulum and Muhammad Yahaya in a condolence visit over the recent markets attacks, which claimed over 50 lives.

Federal Government had shutdown telecom services in the state as part of measures to curtail banditry and kidnapping in some parts of the state.

Tambuwal said the decision to call for the rescinding of the blockade was taken at the enlarged security meeting in the state.

“We have already forwarded a letter to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy to review the internet blockade,” he said

Tambuwal said the governors’ visit was a soothing balm to victims and the entire people of Sokoto.

He said the visit was a clear manifestation of love and brotherhood between the North East and the North West.
