Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday abducted Taraba state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Peter Jediel.
He was abducted at about 1.12 am from his home at Sunkani headquarters of Ardo-Kola local government area.
Sources said the gunmen numbering up to 12 shot sporadically to scare people in the neighborhood before entering Jediel’s house and took him to an unknown location.
One of the victim’s brothers, Boniface Stephen, said no contact has been established with the kidnappers.
The Taraba state Police Command spokesperson, Leha Reform confirmed the incident.
He said no contact was made with the abductors and the police have swung into action to rescue the victim.
