Special Adviser to Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Ibrahim Gidado, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He was received into the APC fold by Senator Aliyu Wamako, the leader of the party in the state, in Sokoto on Sunday.
Gidado was a member of the state House of Assembly representing Sokoto South State Constituency I.
A statement by media aide to Wamakko, Bashar Abubakar on Sunday quoted Gidado as saying that he and his supporters defected from PDP for alleged “lack of focus and trust from its leaders.”
Gidado said, “We joined the APC and its leaders so as to team up and rescue Sokoto State from the failed administration of Tambuwal, as many promises made were not fulfilled.”
