Government workers in Oyo State on Monday have locked the state secretariat at Agodi in Ibadan, the state capital to protest against the hard times being experienced following the removal of oil subsidy.
Only yesterday aggrieved person vandalised government stores in Numan and Yola, in Adamawa State and carted away food and similar materials.
Governor Umaru Fintiri on the heels slammed a 24-hour curfew on the state due to the massive vandalisation of the stores in the Yola and Numan which are about 27 kilometer apart.
Fintiri has since relaxed the curfew to 12 hours.
The aggrieved Oyo workers are demanding palliatives, increase in pension allowances, and payment of salary.
They want payment of leave bonuses, payment of gratuities to retirees who have stagnated
The workers and pensioners were being led by the Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, and their affiliates.
