Protesting workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) chased their Minister, Nyesom Wike who escaped from office through the back gate of the FCTA Secretariat.
The workers had gathered at the gate of the Secretariat since in the morning but were not aware that Wike may have sneaked into the office later in the day.
Upon learning that the Minister had slipped out of the office through the back gate, the angry protesters pursued his convoy to intercept him. The workers chanted repeatedly, “Ole! Ole!! Ole!!!”
A 23-minute video obtained by SAHARA REPORTERS showed the workers running after the minister’s convoy, but the minister was able to escape before they could get hold of him.
Workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), ordered by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), on Monday picketed the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Secretariat and National Industrial Court in Abuja in continuation of a total and indefinite strike started from Monday last week.
The protesters also defied and confronted armed anti-riot policemen stationed at the Minister’s office main gate demanding for his removal.
