Activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has declared his intention to run for Nigeria’s president ahead of the 2023 election.
He formally declared for the country’s topmost seat at the National Women’s Development Center, Abuja on the platform of the African Action Congress (AAC).
This will be the second time the activist will be contesting for the position. He was the candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 presidential election.
Addressing supporters at the event, Sowore said, “The two major criminal political parties, All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party are going to stop functioning after today.
“Our declaration follows what we started doing in 2018 and 2019 and it is that this country is in need of a revolution and that revolution must bring total freedom for the Nigerian people.”
