All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Reconciliation Committee headed by the former national chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun, has submitted the party’s South-South Reconciliation Committee’s report.
The report was presented to the APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) in Abuja by the former deputy governor of Edo State, Mr Lucky Imasuen on behalf of the chairman of the committee.
Odigie-Oyegun said the committee have been able to interface with aggrieved members across the state within the South-South in it’s reconciliation effort.
He said the committee met with party leaders in the region, including Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Timipre Sylva and Health Minister Osagie Ehanire, among others.
It urged the party’s leadership to take time to critically study the content of the report and apply its recommendations.
CECPC National Secretary, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, who received the report on behalf of the national chairman, Mai Mala Buni, described the committee as a child of necessity aimed at resolving issues among members in the South South.
Akpanudoedehe said: “We saw that there was unnecessary strife within the party in the region, especially as most of our leaders were not at peace with one other.
“We also saw the need for us as a people to have a united front to enable us build a consensus on issues affecting us as a people.”
He said the reconciliation committee came as a child of necessity to enable feuding members talk to themselves and resolve issues amongst our party members in the region.
