The Kano State Police Command has confirmed the alleged murder of Jummai, who was stabbed by her teenage son, Iro Kwarangwal of Rimin Kebe Quarters in Kano.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, said details on the incident were not available but would do so when investigations are completed on the matter.
A neighbour, Malam Muhammad Abdu, who witnessed the incident said Jummai, the event occurred on May 3 at about 5:30 pm in the quarters.
“I was standing in front of my house when I heard screaming from the deceased house.
“Upon rushing into the house, we found that the deceased was stabbed severally with knife and screaming for help,” he said.
According to Abdu, the suspect fled the scene shortly after he allegedly committed the heinous crime.
“The deceased was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead by a doctor in the hospital,” he said.
