Soldiers have returned to the military base in Bassa and Allawa communities one month after the military withdrew soldiers from the Joint Security Task Force (JSTF) in the area.
The military had on April 2 announced the withdrawal of its personnel from the JSTF stationed in Allawa and Bassa communities in Shiroro local government area, after bandits attacked a military base in Allawa, killing seven security personnel, comprising five soldiers, one civil defence personnel and a vigilante.
The withdrawal of the troops increased bandits activities in the area, resulting to killings and displacement of thousands of people.
However, there were jubilations by the residents of the communities when soldiers returned on Thursday.
Residents of the communities said the the soldiers arrived at the communities in a military convoy that had 10 Hilux vans and over 100 motorcycles.
