Several bandits were killed in a military air strike in Rabah local government area of Sokoto state in the early hours of Monday
Some of the villagers told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the bandits killed ran into hundreds and their mutilated bodies littered on farmlands.
A video clip obtained by this newspaper showed the mutilated bodies and burnt motorcycles of the bandits with the villagers jubilating over the success of the operation.
A reliable source revealed to the 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that the bandits were trailed from some villages where they attacked last Monday.
The villages attacked were Lambo and Kabanga in Kware local government area as well as Gidanbuye and Kundus Rabah local government areas.
It was gathered that three persons were killed by the bandits who also rustled several livestock.
The military were informed in time and a fighter jet was deployed to the area which trailed the bandits and bombed them around Rarah village.
The member representing Rabah constituency in the state House of Assembly, Abdullahi Zakari described the military operation as the most successful in recent times.
