The Nigerian Army has killed some members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Orlu Imo State.
They trailed the ESN members to a shrine where they killed the ESN members before destroying the shrine.
Two soldiers were killed in the operation reportedly the second in the ongoing clearance operations being carried out by the Army in the state.
The southeast region has been witnessing killings of both civilians and security forces nearly on a daily basis which had led the Army to move in to crush the ESN.
The ESN is the military arm of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, founded by Nnamdi Kanu, a political activist and advocate of the contemporary Biafran independence movement.
The Nigerian government in 2017 under the Nigerian Terrorism Act named the IPOB as terrorist organisation.
