The Osun State Police Command say it arrested three soldiers who invaded Obelawo police station in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, to free some members of a cult group from police detention.
The Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola who disclosed this in Osogbo on Thursday said the soldiers were arrested while attempting to release the suspects.
Opalola said Police Anti-Cultism Unit thwarted the plot, arrested the soldiers and detained them at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
He said the incident would be properly investigated and that necessary actions would be taken after the investigation.
