A member of the House of Representatives from Sokoto state, Abdulkadir Jelani Danbuga, is dead.
He died in Abuja Wednesday night, it was learned.
Mr Danbuga was representing Isa-Sabon Birni federal constituency at the House of Representatives.
He was elected during the 2023 on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Confirming his death, a member, representing Sabon Birni South constituency, Aminu Boza said the deceased died in Abuja around 12:30am on Wednesday after a brief illness.
He said his remains would be brought to Sokoto via a chartered plight for funeral.
The lawmaker said the funeral is expected to take place at his hometown of Sabon Birni around 11am.
The deceased is survived by two wives and many children as well as grand children.
