The Sokoto state government has given its pilgrims 1000 Saudi riyals for the forthcoming Sallah celebration.
The state has 3,723 intending pilgrims.
Speaking while bidding the first batch of the pilgrims farewell at the airport, the Governor Ahmad Aliyu said this was to ease their stay at the Holy land.
He also called on them to pray for the country and its leaders and to abide by their laws.
Speaking on the new Hajj Terminal which was completed by his government, he noted that they got the approval of the federal government before completing the project.
He said N720 million was spent on the project.
In his remarks, the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, thanked the Sokoto state government for completing the project which was owned by the federal government.
Also speaking, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar advised the pilgrims to listen to the preachers attached to them for guidance while at the holy land.
He also advised them to pray for the success of our leaders.
The monarch assured Governor Aliyu that, they would continue to support his government with workable advices and fervent prayers to succeed in delivering his mandate to the people of the state.
