A grandfather has described how horrified he was to discover a live snake in a bunch of broccoli that he claims to have bought at an Aldi supermarket.
The discovery of the snake, later determined to be a ladder snake, was characterized as “frightening” by 63-year-old Neville Linton. The father of three claimed to have purchased the broccoli from an Aldi store in the West Midlands town of Stourbridge. He discovered the harmless snake when he took it out of his refrigerator to make supper. It was quite awful. I’m not good around snakes,” remarked Mr. Linton of Birmingham. The broccoli would have been loose inside the home if I had simply left it out in the kitchen. We have two fragile people living here, so it would have been a major risk for us. Later, the snake was brought to the Dudley Zoo.
