Six House of Representatives Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Young Progressives Party (YPP) members – Unyime Idem, Martin Esin, Paul Ekpo, Uduak Alphonsos, Eteh Ikpong, Emmanuel Udom and Okon Bassey – have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Their defection was announced in separate letters addressed to the Speaker Tajudeen Abbas.
The defecting lawmakers are from Akwa Ibom State.
Their defection is coming a few weeks after that of their governor, Umo Eno, from the PDP to the APC.
