Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua International Airport, Katsina, en route to the family homes of two distinguished sons of the state who recently passed away.
The Vice President will pay condolence visits to the families of the late Ambassador Zakari Ibrahim (Talban Katsina) and the late Alhaji Ahmadu Kurfi (Maradin Katsina), both of whom made significant contributions to their community and the nation at large.
Ambassador Ibrahim, who died at the age of 81, was a former Director General of the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA).
Alhaji Kurfi, who passed away at 93, was a former Executive Secretary of the defunct Federal Electoral Commission (FEDECO) during the Second Republic.
Shettima was received on arrival at the airport by the Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda.
The VP was accompanied by Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan (Borno Central, APC), Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari; the Minister of Transportation Sa’idu Ahmed Alkali; the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje; and the Special Adviser to the President on General Duties (Office of the Vice President), Aliyu Modibbo Umar.
