Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday briefed President Bola Tinubu on the state of affairs of the country when the president was on a two-week leave.
One of the issues the Vice President briefed the President on was his trip to Sweden where he represented the President.
Photos from the State House on Monday showed Shettima in the President’s office, with both leaders discussing.
President Tinubu on October 2 left Abuja for the United Kingdom for a two-week vacation, part of his yearly leave.
Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, had said “He will use the two weeks as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.”
During the President’s absence, Vice President Shettima undertook a two-day trip to Sweden.
Shettima’s spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha, in a statement said the Vice President would engage in high-level bilateral talks with key government officials, including a meeting with Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and the Swedish Prime Minister.
On October 19, 2024, Tinubu returned to the country after leaving both the UK and France.
Tinubu had asked the Vice President to lead the Nigerian delegation to the Commonwealth Summit in Samoa, but he could not make it as a result of an incident which led to the grounding of his aircraft for repair in New York.
Shettima has since returned to Nigeria.
