The Head of Service, Folashade Yemi-Esan, has approved the immediate suspension of the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign affairs, Ambassador Ibrahim Lamuwa, following allegations of sexual harassment against him.
Lamuwa is to remain suspended pending the outcome of an immediate probe into the allegation against him.
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar had written to the Head of Service to investigate the matter after he received a petition from a staff of the ministry, Simisola Ajayi, who accused Lamuwa of sexually harassing her.
It was gathered that soon after receiving the correspondence from Tuggar, the head of service set up a committee to prove the matter.
Some senior staffers in the office of the head of service confirmed that the permanent secretary has been suspended as investigation continues.
They also said apart from evidence that ha been tendered, witnesses were also billed to be invited to testify.
