Seven family members comprising two married women and five teenagers have died after taking dinner in Zamfara state on Monday.
The tragedy happened in Danbaza village, Maradun Local Government Area of the state after the family took a local delicacy made of corn and vegetable called ‘dambu.’
The two married women and two teenagers died immediately after taking the meal.
The three other victims died after they were rushed to a hospital, witnesses said.
Spokesperson of the police in the state, SP Mohammed Shehu, said the command has began investigation to unravel the cause of the death of the family
He said, “The incident happened on Monday immediately after the family took the meal prepared as their dinner.
“The police has taken samples of the meal for analysis and I assure the general public that results would be released to newsmen.”
