Former Minister of Aviation Stella Oduah, on Thursday, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The former minister was officially received into the party in a brief ceremony attended by the caretaker chairman of the APC, Governor Mai Mala Buni, ; Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege, chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) Atiku Bagudu, and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma.
Buni promised that the senator would be granted all the privileges accorded to APC members.
“You will enjoy the privileges enjoyed by all members of the party because you will have a waiver,” he said.
Oduah, on her part, said she joined the ruling party because she wants to change the “political narrative” in the South-east region of the country.
She said her supporters in Anambra are “jubilating” that she joined the APC.
APC candidate in the November 2021 Anambra governorship election, Andy Uba, also attended the event.
Oduah’s defection comes amid a crisis in the opposition party.
