A former Senator who represented Katsina South Senatorial District, Bello Mandiya, is dead.
He was aged 62.
The Katsina State Government announced that Mandiya died on Monday September 7, 2027.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda has expressed shock and sadness over the death, saying it was a great loss to Katsina State and Nigeria.
Radda described the late senator as a committed public servant whose contributions to the development of Katsina State and Nigeria would be remembered.
The governor condoled with Mandiya’s family, former Governor Masari, the people of Katsina South, his political associates and friends, as well as his colleagues in the Ninth Senate.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive Mandiya’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
Mandiya was Chief of Staff to former Governor Aminu Bello Masari.
The late politician was elected to the Senate in 2019 to 2023 under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
