The Senate has confirmed Dr Bernard Doro as a minister.
Doro’s screening on Thursday lasted less than 30 minutes, as lawmakers express confidence in his experience and leadership capacity.
The Plateau-born technocrat, who is the third minister from the state in the current administration, said he would promote fairness and transparency in Nigeria’s humanitarian interventions.
“I will create a humanitarian ecosystem that is inclusive, guided by impartiality and independence,” Doro said.
The senators asked him to take a bow and leave, confirming his nomination without objection.
Tinubu had earlier requested the Senate to confirm Doro in line with Section 147 (2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the letter at plenary and referred it to the Committee of the Whole for immediate action.
Doro was nominated following the appointment of his predecessor, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
