The Senate had earlier confirmed three other non-career ambassadors, making the total number of confirmed nominees to 67.
The confirmation came after the presentation of the committee’s report by its chairman, Sani Bello, after which the recommendations were adopted.
Senator Sahabi Yau, senator representing Zamfara North, raised an objection over the absence of a nominee from his state on the list, and urged the Red Chamber to notify President Bola Tinubu of the omission.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, while responding, acknowledged the concern and said the list before the chamber was not exhaustive.
Akpabio said he would bring the matter before Tinubu, adding that additional ambassadorial nominations were expected.
The Senate President told the lawmakers that Zamfara state would not be excluded from the ambassadorial nominations.
