Bandits on Tuesday invaded Nasarawa State Local Government Civil Service Commission and took away one AK 47 riffle from personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps on guard at the commission.
This is even as gunmen attacked police officers on patrol operations along Kolo-Ogbia road in Bayelsa State, injuring one poliman.
In the attack in Nasarawa, the assailants also carted away two televisions and a safe box containing valuable documents.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that two NSCDC personnel and one other security man, who were on duty on the day of the incident, were tied by the gunmen before carrying out their operation which lasted for about three hours.
In the Bayelsa attack, it was gathered that the gunmen numbering six and armed with AK47 in an unmarked vehicle, opened fire at the unsuspecting policemen on duty at about 10:45 pm on Monday and carted away a rifle.
An inspector, who was one of the three policemen on duty was hit by a bullet while trying to take cover to repel the attack.
Spokespersons of both Nasarawa NSCDC command, Jerry Victor, and Bayelsa State Police Commands, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incidents.
