The Chief Executive Officer of Kojo Sam Logistics and Labrador Security Outfit, Dr Kojo Sam has denied authorizing the recent killings in Opu- Nembe, Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Unidentified gunmen had stormed the community killing three people in cold blood sparking outrage across the state.
The youth leader of Opu-Nembe, Ayerite Moses had in a statement alleged that the killings was authorised by Dr Kojo as part of the plot to upstage him as the Youth leader.
However in a statement entitled, ‘ Killings in Nembe- Kojo Sam Denies Involvement, calls on Relevant Security Agencies to Bring Perpetrators to Book’ , Dr Kojo described the allegations levelled by Moses as “ spurious and baseless”.
According to him he would have remained silent and allow the security agencies to do their work to unravel the killers but keeping quiet could be “mistaken for acquiesce to an allegation that is fallacious in every sense of it.”
“Nothing can be further from the truth; I am not in any way involved in the murderous act carried out in Opu-Nembe kingdom. It is rather curious to note, that immediately after the sad and unfortunate incident, Mr. Ayerite Moses has come out with names, purportedly of those who carried out the dastardly act in Opu-Nembe kingdom. It is pertinent to ask, since when did Mr Ayerite become a security expert with the expertise of unmasking the masterminds of such heinous acts almost immediately after the act? This should be of great interest to the security agencies,” he said.
Kojo, while lamenting that youths in Opu- Nembe have been attacked and barred from the community for identifying with him, insisted that he was not involved in the killings in Nembe.
“I condemn in totality the murderous act carried out in Opu-Nembe, and call on the relevant security agencies to with no hesitation carry out a holistic investigation, with the intent of unravelling who the masterminds and perpetrators of the Opu-Nembe killing are, and ensuring they are all brought to face the full wrath of the law,” he said.
