Dozens of people have been killed and many others injured when bandits attacked six communities in Batsari local government area of Katsina State.
The attack occurred late Tuesday and towards early Wednesday morning.
21st CENTURY CHRONICLE gathered that dozens of houses and vehicles were set ablaze by the assailants during the attack.
It was learned that five communities were involved in the attack that lasted for houses without interference from security forces.
A security source told 21st CENTURY CHRONICLE that in each of the communities invaded, the gunmen fired on the air before going from house to house and looted treasures, including food items.
The Member representing Batsari in the State House of Assembly, Jabir Yauyau, confirmed the incident.
“The majority of those killed are people I know personally, but I still need to confirm,” he said.
Katsina Police Command is yet to issue official statement on the incident.
