Saudi Arabian authorities has approved the burial of the late billionaire philanthropist and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, in Madina on Monday.
The deceased’s secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaidu, stated this in a brief post on Facebook.
He said permission has been given to transport Dantata’s body from Abu Dhabi to Madina for his burial in accordance with his final wishes.
“Praise be to God, praise be to God, praise be to God. Approval has been obtained to transport Aminu Alhassan Dantata from Abu Dhabi to Madina. The funeral prayer will be held tomorrow (Monday) morning, God willing,” Junaidu wrote.
It was learnt that the development comes after an earlier delay, due to the work-free weekend policy in Saudi Arabia which had slowed the paperwork required for the burial.
Dantata died on Friday night at a hospital in Abu Dhabi after a brief illness at the age of 94.
A Ghaib (funeral) prayer was performed in Kano on Saturdays in absentia, which was attended by dignitaries, relatives and associates who gathered to honour the late entrepreneur’s memory.
