Kano state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has described having Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II as the 16rh Emir of Kano state as a blessing.
The governor made this known when he received the Emir at the state government house when the Emir paid a Sallah homage to the governor. According to the governor, no state in Nigeria is blessed with a versatile leader as Muhammadu Sanusi II, he described the Emir as a leader in all ramifications whose contribution to humanity can’t be quantify.
“You can’t count the occasion that our Emir has led us in Friday prayers, you are all aware that he led this year’s Eidel Fitr prayer as well. He is a versatile individual whose has contributed immensely to human development, he was a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria with all that it takes of a good leader. We are blessed to have him as a leader,” he said.
Earlier in his address the 16th Emir of Kano thanked the state House of Assembly for making the law that made his reinstatement possible. He also thanked Kano state government for all the support it has been given to the emirate adding that only few people have the privilege of returning to a position they left years ago.
The Sallah homage paid to the Kano state government house by the Emir is coming at a point when the state command of the Nigerian police banned Sallah durbar activities in the state.
It was gathered that despite the ban Emir Sanusi had visited his mother as the durbar tradition stipulated on the second day of Sallah festivals and also paid Sallah homage to the state governor on the third day of the Sallah festival.
